Hi, I’m Lisa, a certified health coach, natural health and wellness enthusiast, health blogger, and earth lover. I believe that the path to optimal health starts with good nutrition and positive lifestyle changes. If you can get those two things going, everything you want and deserve will naturally come together: better moods and energy levels, and less stress and weight loss battles.

My love for exercise and fitness began as a young girl. I was a dedicated athlete, playing a variety of sports 24/7 and I couldn’t get enough. As I got older, it became increasingly hard to maintain my weight and it was frustrating. My relationship with my body was turbulent: I was a fad-dieting, sleep-depriving, anxiety-stricken, scale-fearing, and self-doubting mess. I was hitting the gym hard two hours per day 5-6 days a week, and I couldn’t make sense of why I couldn’t lose excess fat. Then I had a realization. Hating my body was affecting everything in my life, so I committed myself to understanding what nutrition was all about. Through learning how nutrition, lack of sleep, and stress affect the body, my mentality shifted. I viewed food as a source of nourishment, not the enemy. I began to eat in a way that healed my body. I got adequate sleep, I had more energy, I began to love my myself.

This is the thing, health is synergistic- mind, body, spirit; there’s no way around it. It doesn’t matter how fit you are, if you don’t eat well then all your hard work is going to waste. It doesn’t matter if you eat like a nutritionist, if you don’t move your body then it won’t perform at its best. And it doesn’t matter if you’re a green juice-drinking, circuit-training athlete, if you’re stressed to the max, your health will suffer. That’s why I believe in a holistic approach to health, one that considers diet AND lifestyle, and connects the mind, body and spirit.

The kitchen is where good health begins…

I don’t advocate for a particular diet; instead, my beliefs are rooted in fuelling and nourishing my body with real, whole foods. That means foods that are as close to their natural state as possible- clean and unprocessed. No additives, no artificial ingredients, no preservatives; chemicals and toxins do not do a body good.

I believe in being flexible and listening to my body, and by that I mean that what I need on a Monday could be different from what I need on a Tuesday.  Let me explain, if I had a super high intensity workout and I need a bigger breakfast than usual, I’ll have it.  If I feel like indulging in a good quality baked goodie on a Sunday, I’ll do it. Deprivation is no way to live, and I’m so much happier for it. Everything in moderation.

I believe health and nutrition are a lifestyle. Extreme restrictions rarely work in the longterm. They just put extra stress on your mind and body. I believe in eating sustainably, for both you and for the planet!

I’m passionate about helping people feel their best everyday because life is too short and each day should be enjoyed!  I teach my clients that with a bit of dedication, we will transform your lifestyle in a way that’s enjoyable, sustainable, and personal to you.
